According to Board of Regents regulation, each summer school class meets 1½ hours per day and covers one-half year of a subject.
Therefore, if a student wants credit for a year of a subject, the student must register for 2 classes and attend 3 hours per day.
A student who registers for 2 classes in a Regents subject for 3 hours per day is eligible to take the Regents examination offered in August.
In addition, for a student to be eligible for a Science Regents examination, the student must take 2 classes and also 20 hours of lab work outside of the class.
