The Windsor School

2020 Summer School

We regret to inform that we will be unable to offer our Summer School program this year. This was not an easy decision for us, but we feel it is the right one. The safety of our students and staff are always our top priority and due to the uncertain nature of the days and months ahead, we believe cancelling summer school is in everyone's best interest. Due to the nature of, and purpose for, taking accelerated Regents classes in the summer, classes must be taught in our school building with an experienced, certified teacher. Online classes were never an option, as the New York State Department of Education requires 90 hours of in-class instruction and in the case of science classes, 20 hours of labs qualifying a student to take the August Regents. There will not be an administration of August Regents this summer, which ultimately led to our decision to cancel summer school.

We want to thank you for your interest and support of our summer school. Although, we will not be working together this summer, we certainly hope to welcome you to Summer School 2021. Please check our website in February 2021 for information on next year's summer school.

According to Board of Regents regulations, each summer school class meets 1-1/2 hours per day and covers one-half year of a subject.

Therefore, if a student wants credit for a year of a subject, the student must register for 2 classes and attend 3 hours per day.

A student who registers for 2 classes in a Regents subject for 3 hours per day is eligible to take the Regents examination offered in August.

However, for a student to be eligible to take a Science Regents examination, the student must complete 2 classes and 1200 minutes of lab work on Saturdays.

Labs meet from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Chemistry, Earth Science, Living Environment (Biology) and Physics

Dates: July 11, July 18, and August 1

If you do not want credit for the course, the labs are optional.

Lab Fee:
$680 when taken with course for credit
$800 lab only (no Summer School course taken)

If you do not want credit for the course, the labs are optional.
