A University Preparatory Curriculum
A Word from Our Administrators

There has never been a greater need to provide a sound academic education for our youth. Our experience as educators has taught us that if a student is to gain admission to the college of his or her choice, as well as succeed in that college, he or she must have a disciplined and consistent academic education.

Under the supervision of a skilled staff, Windsor School students progress academically, socially, emotionally, and culturally.

Above all, the individual student is considered. We provide a learning atmosphere where each student has the opportunity to develop his or her potential to the fullest extent.

The Windsor School's aim with all school activities, in and out of the classroom, is to develop well-rounded and inquisitive minds prepared to cope with our ever-changing modern world.

James Seery

Philip A. Stewart, Ph.D.

The Windsor School curriculum is comprehensive and carefully planned to meet the admission requirements for all colleges. Our courses of study are updated and revised to meet New York State Regents standards. In addition to major sequences in English, mathematics, social studies, foreign language and science, students have the opportunity to pursue electives in areas of special interest including Advanced Placement Courses. Elective courses include:
  • Business Administration & Law
  • Marketing
  • Literature: Classic & Modern
  • Psychology
  • Foreign Languages
  • Fashion Design
  • Music
  • Portfolio Art
  • AP Studio Art, AP 2D Design
  • AP Courses in Calculus, Chemistry, Physics, English, History, Spanish and Statistics

The Windsor School Faculty

We have carefully selected our faculty, using strict criteria for scholarship, instructional competence and experience. It is our concern that each teacher be keenly interested in the welfare and needs of our students. All our teachers are experts in their special subject areas. They are available to all students for individual help.

Every parent is interested in the development of his or her own child, not an abstract theory of education. Some youngsters are sophisticated and restless while others are shy and timid. Our teachers are always aware of such individual differences.

Patience, a desire to help each and every student, and an understanding of the attitudes and goals of today’s teenagers are the characteristics of the Windsor faculty. Every teacher knows every child; every child can consult every teacher.

Individual Attention

Windsor School teachers assist students individually whenever improvement of scholastic standing is necessary. The small classes enable our staff to work with the strengths and/or weaknesses of each student.

The extracurricular program, also part of the school day, enables students to develop interests in art, instrumental music, sports, school yearbook, community service, chess club, etc.
